Back on the Board?

It's been 16 years since I was last on the Stephenson County Board. Much has changed in that time while a few things remain. Most of the County Department Heads that were there when I was on the board have either retired, moved on, or are retiring soon. Some have asked me why I would want to get back involved and to this I say bad things happen when those with limited government ideals do nothing. We do not exist to serve our government which seems to be more and more what people expect or believe. We exhist Free in this country and our government intrusion in our lives is suppose to be limited. What has happened? An ever increasing array of beauracracies are now involved in "helping us" or "protecting us" in the case of Covid and what does it simply mean but that people who think they know better how to rule us are now trying to rule us by using mandates and government levers of power to control us. We need to fight this tendency with every fiber of our beings or we will lose this great country many have fought and died for. SO - having said all that I believe I have the experience and fortitude to walk the walk in this time of tumultuousness and not just talk the talk.
